On a 15mph corner in Northern California, my front tire washed out on my 1987 Honda Hurricane in 1993. I slid on the pavement briefly and was up and running faster than my feet could move. Took the skin off my arm, last time I wore just a t-shirt. I never used to go out without a long sleeve, of course it's the time I don't wear the proper gear that I go down.

Mine was worse riding a yamaha xs 650 I hit a barbed wire fence going around turn doing about 50. Got lucky and only broke my coller bone.

Ow, you didn't get scratched up from the barbs??
In 1980, I was on my '72 CB750 on my way to my girlfriends house (now wife of 25 years) I had stopped at an intersection in her neighborhood, with my left turn signal on and using a hand signal. As I started to make the turn onto her street an old women that was looking through the steering wheel not over it, passed me on the left side. Yes I was turning left. Her front bumper caught my front wheel and drug me about 20 feet, the only reason she stopped is because the bike & me got stuck under the car. She said she didn't see me. Believe it or not I was not hurt. When I got the bike out from under the car I looked and noticed a blue streak going down the entire side of her car. My bike was black. Then I realized my helmet was blue. I have always worn a helmet since then. Two good things came from it. I got my bike completely redone and enough extra cash for us to spend the week at the ocean when the bike was done, thanks to my buddy that owned a bike shop that knew how to bleed an insurance claim.
Amazing but no. I went off the road into the shoulder slid into the fence and the bike got hung up in it, and it was like a sling shot. I hit head and shoulder first and shot down the shoulder of the road. Never hit the fence and never hit the road. Like I said, I was very lucky and yes helmuts save lives.
And yes in spite of all the clothing I was scratched and bruised pretty good.
